one of Kyle's residents managed to be both racist and homophobic in the same 5 minutes. he claimed to have been joking with the comment about "speaking Mexican", but the muttered "gayness" was serious.

this kid is one of the hardest people to be around. he's convinced that he's always in the right, and if you don't agree, you're both wrong and stupid. then comes the exasperated sigh, which is annoying as fuck. i've tried, and am trying still, to find out what it is that makes him how he is, but i can't. it sounds like his dad has every medical ailment known to man, but he talks about it like it's no big thing, and that he doesn't care about his own father.

but i still can't manage find the link between his father's poor health and his arrogant and rude personality.

why are some people almost try to make themselves hard to be around??

it makes me sad.

anywho... lessee.... cough still here, as are the ever-so-enjoyable fatigue and funny voice side dishes. who knew being sick could be so sexy??

i'm fairly positive that i'm doing well in Spanish and Crim, which is nice. don't know one way or another in Geography, but really... it's a fucking map-reading class. i'm not sure why that particular course annoys me so much. maybe it's because it's right in the middle of when i like to take naps.

which is all day.

what else... Kyle and I had our 10-month anniversary yesterday. that was fun. what did we do? not much, but it was still fun.

One of my references for the Campus Security Public Safety job got back into town today, so hopefully they'll be calling me in on Friday to give me the final verdict. i just want to know!! this whole run-around that i've been doing better pay off, because it's getting old.

I need to shave my legs. just an observation. feeling privileged to be so intimate? yeah, i didn't think so.

alright, i'm going to go read some more. Kyle encouraged me to start in on this trilogy by Garth Nix called the Abhorsen trilogy, and it's embarrassing how much i'm into a book that deals in magic and fantastic creatures.

from Walkman to iPod Nano...

so, i'm writing a paper and giving a presentation on portable music devices... anybody have a suggestion for a starting point? i was thinking about the Walkman, because i don't consider a boombox to be very portable.... looking for input, here!!

Walkman => Walkman Tapedeck => CD players => those cheesy little mp3 players with the little chip thingies that played 30 sec.s of N*SYNC => iPod => iPod knockoffs

did i miss anything? i'm sure i did, seeing as i basically made that up as i went.

yeah.... more research is definitely needed.
